Jessica Carneiro Bertola is a 23 year old from Brazil. She came to Canada last year, after attending university. Since coming here, she “saw a lot of free time and an opportunity to meet new people, practice my English and have fun.” The 5’9 woman found an enjoyable challenge in posing for Wearable Therapy, as she “had to show different moods according with the messages the product wanted to deliver.” Here’s a closer look at Jessica in her Q&A:
Do you have any trademark poses or looks?
Well… photographers I work with love my hair, so I always try to keep it curly. About poses I try to look different, but I am used to look like girl-next-door.

I love posing to high fashion and glamour. Different hair styles and make-up grab my attention.
Where can our customers find you or your work online?
I use my Instagram to advertise my work.
Can you describe the design that you are posing in for WT?
I posed in several different designs. Each one had colours or prints according to the messages were printed. Then, some were vibrant and happy, with colours as green, yellow and orange, others more about strong feelings, with red, black, and gray.
What is your favorite WT product?
I love t-shirts, because I feel totally free wearing them. When I saw the colours and messages printed in the clothing, I thought for sure I would buy those products. It was not just about modeling them, but feeling it was something I would wear. The bright colours reflect a lot my mood and personality.

What is your definition of ‘normal’?
Normal is someone or something similar to everybody/everything, non featured, common.
We are all about celebrating people’s awesomeness, so what makes you awesome?
Well, talking about me is really difficult. What makes me feel awesome is when I successful finalize a task and I am recognized for that. It is when I believe I can and, in the end, I really could.
What is a challenge that you face often in your life?
I think building a career is a challenge for me, even in modeling or other jobs. Besides, dealing with people and pressure is not something easy, and it is important being open to different opinions and reviews.
What is the best compliment that you have ever received?
I am totally grateful when people say they like being in my company, because I am easy-going person and have a beautiful character. They feel peaceful with me. I like when I am recognized for my hard-work as well.
What was the best criticism you ever received?
I can’t hold the whole world on my own.
What makes your life easier?
I do not believe life is easy. There is always something we have to overcome to achieve what we want.
What makes your life more difficult?
When I make decisions, usually I do not just think about me, I think about everybody who is involved in my life. So I want to achieve my goal and theirs as well.
What is your definition of success?
It is the achievement of a goal or result.
We are all changing and evolving all the time. How are you in the process of changing?
I am really satisfied with I already have achieved, considering my age. I had the courage to change my life and start again, and I feel more mature, responsible, and independent. But I have a lot to do and to learn, so I believe I am just starting.
If you could interview anyone, whom would you choose?
Well, I would like to choose someone who could offer their experience for me, someone really intelligent and interested in changing the world and help people. But, actually, I do not have anyone in mind.
