What makes you feel…

Proud?  I’m proud to be a better person than I was five years ago.

Angry?  When others are mistreated.

Lucky?  I am very fortunate to have such a loving family, as well as loving and supportive friends. I have been blessed with many amazing opportunities to utilize my creativity.

Hopeful?  Knowing I have endured hardships in the past. I don’t know why, but one of the most hopeful sentences I say to myself is; “I will endure even this.”

Sad?  Inviting giraffes over to the house and forgetting that I have ceiling fans.

Strong?  Opening a pickle jar.

Would you rather…

Take the freeway or the scenic route?  Definitely Scenic. I’m an artist, so seeing things is important to me. Plus the chances of spotting a fox on the way are much higher.

A large circle of friends or a few close friends?  I would rather have a few close friends. A crowd of friends can feel just as lonely as being alone.

Workout your body or your mind?  They both go hand in hand really. I suppose the mind is the priority, but I find teaching your body to endure helps your mind to endure.

Traditions or Change?  Create family traditions and change for the better.

Are your real-life role models?  My girlfriend, my Mom and Dad, and Jesus.

Are your famous/well-known role models?  Donald Miller, Steve Taylor and Donald Miller again.

Would you like to work with in the future?  Almost anyone who will employ me to be constantly creating. I can’t seem to stop.

Inspired you most as a child?  When I was a fetus, my mother.

What is your favorite WT product and why?

Definitely The Breakfast Club T-shirt and the Internal Struggle T-shirt. Both fantastic designs as well as creative.

What is your definition of ‘normal’?

Normal is the perception of what fits in to our society.

We believe that everyone is awesome in their own way.  So, what makes you awesome?

My awesomeness I think, comes from the ability to see it for myself. It sounds egotistical, but I think it’s a very healthy practise. I mess up things and make a lot of wrong decisions. I am far from perfect. But I also have come a long way and find myself with fewer failures. And the ability to like myself and think of myself as awesome, is very awesome.

What is a challenge that you face often in your life?

Dealing with failure. I have had struggles in failure and often look down upon myself or take it way too personally when I fail. I have been working on that.

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

I can’t single out one. I just know the best compliments are the ones that compliment who I am rather than what I can do.

What is the best criticism you have ever received?

That I should stop lusting for fame. Everyone wants to be on the mountain top, but the fruit is in the valley.

What makes your life easier?

What makes your life more difficult?

The lack of tea.

What is your definition of success?

To succeed is to try. To try constantly.

We are all changing and evolving all the time.  How are you in the process of changing?

I am constantly changing. I used to be a very angry person, and it’s taken years to become the man I am today. With God’s help, I have sanded down my temper, my ego and a lot of the things that made me a difficult person to be around. It’s a daily process I still work on.

If you could interview anyone, whom would you choose?

Richard Thompson, creator of CUL-DE-SAC. …Or maybe Shaun Tan.
