Loving husband and father of 12 talented, brilliant and oftentimes sarcastic kids, Jaime Buckley is a veteran author, illustrator, and popular blogger. Jaime entertains the young and young-at-heart through epic fantasy and his off-the-wall humor. His focus and passion revolves around the potential of others. The underlying theme of all his books, games and articles can be summed up in a single line: You are more than you think you are!

What makes you feel…

Excited? Good fortune experienced by others, or seeing the progression of another.

Angry? Injustice and cruelty. Just cannot abide a bully.

Lucky? Every time I look at my darling wife.

Conflicted? When I’m forced to choose between doing art for profit and art to further my personal projects or for the love of it.

Hopeful? When I witness the unexpected kindness of a stranger.

Would you rather…

A large circle of friends or a few close friends?  Why not have both?

Adventure trip or relaxing vacation?  Depends on if I have to bring the kids…

Traditions or change?  Change IS traditional…in fact it’s the only constant in the Universe.

Sports or the Arts?  Art IS a sport.

Who…

Are your real-life role models?  My parents, my wife, my best friend Ondi Allred and my close friend, Roger M. Anthony (R.I.P.)

Are your famous/well-known role models?  Jesus Christ, Wendell P. Dipmier, Morphiophelius Smith and Dax.

Would you like to work with in the future?  My two best friends and my own children.

Inspired you most as a child?  Comic Books, plain and simple.  They taught me cartooning and the craft of storytelling.

What is your favorite WT product and why?

The Breakfast Club Men’s T-Shirt, of course

What is your definition of ‘normal’?

Bah, that’s a relative term.  To me, ‘normal’ is being consistent with oneself. Not living by what people expect you to be, so much as what you expect of yourself. For in the end, you’re the one who always has to look into the mirror. To be ‘normal’ is to be stable and to not be blown about by the emotional winds of life’s experiences.

We believe that everyone is awesome in their own way.  So, what makes you awesome?

If I was to think of a single thing, it would be my habit of looking (and finding) good in others. What makes them special, kind, unique, and then using that knowledge to encourage them and uplift them, to help them become the very best they can be.

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

That in my presence, they felt like a ‘whole’ person.

What is the best criticism you have ever received?

That if I would be willing to work on my writing skills, my books would be NYTimes Bestselling material (told to my wife and I by International and NYTimes Bestselling Author, David Farland).

What makes your life easier?

Clear communication… and simplicity.

What makes your life more difficult?

Struggling with my health.

We are all changing and evolving all the time.  How are you currently in the process of changing?

I am working on an evolving heart. To see the brilliant potential in every living soul around me and striving to gain the kind of influence that helps me help others awaken the potential within them. People don’t realize how amazing they are and it’s something my mother always did for me before she died. She ingrained in me: YOU ARE MORE THAN YOU THINK YOU ARE.

If you could interview anyone, who would you choose?

My mother.  I miss her.
