How are you influencing others? Are you thoughtful with your words before you speak them? This design, by talented artist Jill Henrichsen, at first glance, may seem to suggest passion and romance. But, as well as that, it dares to deliver a much deeper message. To some, behind the seemingly soft gestures and colors, they see hidden signs of emotional abuse. How one may be “melted into a hellish world by the manipulating or troubling tactics of another.” Others may see a positive influence as one helps warm the other’s icy exterior or cools their dangerously wild spirit.
Steve Maraboli said, “Sometimes the most painful lessons are delivered by someone masquerading as a soul mate….” But at the same time healthy relationships can actually build up each individual without destroying parts of the other. As Jill sees it, “Marriage isn’t about finding the right person, it’s being the right person.” In other terms, it is when you can truly love yourself that you will truly find love with another.
